Shopping is temptation and sometimes it is hard to resist.  But if you take some time to check your supplies at home first, you might surprise yourself.  Organizing is making decisions…sometimes the decision to not buy it and bring more ‘stuff’ into your home is the best decision you can make.

1. Instead of buying that book, borrow it from the library.

2. Be careful of coupons unless you really need or have run out of something.  Not buying at all is the cheapest way to go.

3. Search your medicine cabinet before you go to the pharmacy.  From my experience, what you need is usually in there.

4. If you still write thank you notes, look in your stash of cards before buying new stationery.

5. Look in the pantry before going to the grocery store.  And, try to shop with a list.

6. Use your gym membership instead of buying more exercise equipment – weights, kettle bells, you name it.

7. Finally, shop your closet before buying any new clothes or accessories.

All of these choices will reduce the clutter and save you money at the same time!
