In the past few years I have had numerous clients who call me because they are ready to downsize or ‘rightsize’ their lives. Interestingly enough many of these individuals are not even close to retirement age. They simply want to live more in the moment, not spending all of their time maintaining, cleaning, repairing, storing and thinking about things. Many envision their children going thru their belongings years from now, realizing there is little of value and much that is clutter. So, they are taking action – donating, recycling, selling, appraising, tossing, cleaning, and clearing out. Living with less and feeling great about it! So now it is your turn. As the new year is just about fresh and resolutions are in the air, set your sights on parting with 10 items in your home in January. Increase the number to 20 in February and keep going…clothes, electronics, paper, cosmetics, tools, hardware, decorative items, dishes, memorabilia, games, toys, software, shoes, boots, coats, empty boxes, platters, office supplies – you name it. Your home will begin to feel better and you will feel great as well!
