It’s fall and our focus moves indoors, as the days get shorter and our schedules ramp up.   Take some time to look around your indoor spaces and perform some organizing tune ups.   Here are some ideas to get you started:

Kitchen ~ Fall is full of baking, tailgating, and indoor entertaining.   Put away outdoor dishes and serving items and focus your attention on fall essentials.   Refine your collection of tupperware and plastic holders (be sure all tops have matching bottoms!) and make sure apple peelers, pie dishes, platters, and other fall meal supplies are accessible.

Mudroom ~ Clear out the summer clutter.   Flip flops, sun lotion, towels, swim wear…Make clear spaces for fall sports and activity gear, light jackets, and shoes.   Clean and store summer items in clear or labelled bins so they are easily recognizable in your storage areas.

Office ~ While technology is  helpful in our daily lives, it sometimes requires a vast number of cords!!   Now is a great time to get under your desks and corral all of those jumbled cords (and yes, it takes some time and patience)   Find a simple way to keep them separated and organized using what you currently have on hand – hair bands, rubber bands, velcro strips, ribbons…

Meals~ Create a weekly meal plan.  With your family’s input, write out a meal idea for each night of the week.  Write out the ingredients for each meal then check your pantry for what you have on hand.   For the remaining items, add them to your shopping list and take this list with you to the grocery store or use it to order your groceries online.
