Whether we like it or not, first impressions stick.  So, think about the first area or space you enter in your home.  What is your first thought when you look at this space? What do you think others see/feel in the space?  Is it a reflection of the rest of your spaces? Is it cluttered and full of stuff that makes you avoid the space and pass through it as quickly as you can each day?  If this is how your space looks and feels, it’s time for an overhaul.  First step, visualize and plan how you would like the space to look and feel.  You may not be able to make it perfect due to spatial or budget reasons, but you can certainly focus on decluttering and removing those things that don’t serve you, your family members or the space. Set some time aside to do a deep dive declutter and sort thru the items living in the space – clothing, shoes, bags, backpacks, returns that need to get to returned, pet supplies…whatever is there, go thru and purge or donate.  Anything that remains should have a specific space assigned to it and way it is stored, and a reason for being in that space.  Entryways are great for storage, but the look and the feel matter as well.  You need to have that feeling of calmness when you enter your space each day and ideally all of the items stored there should have a designated home.  Strive for that space with that ‘welcome home’ feeling.
