Most years I find myself well organized to face the holidays. For some reason this year doesn’t feel like one of those well thought out and well planned holiday seasons. Rather than searching for the reasons or reading too much into it, I am going to focus on getting back on track. I don’t know about you, but I have read too many articles about how to reduce the overwhelm, and honestly, none of them resonate. What does resonate for me is a re-set. Making lists and feeling good about checking the things off that I can get to and just letting go of the things that I can’t quite get onto the lists. Making sure my home is organized is always a top priority, but especially during the holidays. I can’t quite get my mojo for the holiday when my home doesn’t feel put together – whether it’s my closet or my refrigerator, my reading stack or the laundry, getting things in order feels good – and it gives me energy to focus on the holiday.
So, if the holiday season has you stuck – try to re-set and get back to the basics of what gets you feeling on track to celebrate the holiday season!
