If you live in the northeast right now you are probably feeling a bit of cabin fever. The snowfall is not stopping and we are stuck indoors for longer periods of time than we are used to.   If this sounds like you, take advantage of some of that indoor time to do some organizing!     Choose one space at a time to focus your efforts and work through the space.     What is your vision for the space when it is organized? How do you plan on using the space?   After you answer these types of questions, you should get moving.     Sort like items and make decisions about the items you are sorting.   Is the item beautiful, useful or loved? Do you use it on a regular basis? If it is or if you do, perhaps it is worth keeping.   If not, move it into a pile designated “donate, recycle, toss or give away.”   Only put back what you have decided to keep and really think about where things are being stored.    Take action with the items you have decided to part with – don’t leave them sitting in a pile in your space.   Identify donation sources or pass the item to someone you know who could use it.   Remember to leave yourself lots of time, as making decisions about your possessions often takes much longer than we think.       And, these days we seem to have a lot of these snow days to fill our time!
