Keep Up Your Decluttering Stamina!

Oct 24, 2017 | Behavior, Clutter/DeClutter

When you take on decluttering and organizing projects, sometimes the projects become a lot bigger than you think they will be. If you have recently taken on a big hulk of a project, keep these tips in mind:

It looks worse before it looks better. When we begin to pull out items that have been hidden away in drawers or closets our spaces fill up quickly with a large volume of stuff.

Know your peak energy time of the day. Try to declutter when you have the most energy.

Complete one room or area before moving on to the next. This allows you to focus and finish rather than to get a little bit done in a few different places without finishing anything.

Put on some music that you enjoy to motivate you.

Step up the pace by setting a timer. You can set the timer for any increment of time to devote that bit of your day to your project. Achieve what you can and feel satisfied.

Reward yourself. After you have completed what you set out to get done, reward yourself with a walk, a fun errand, or a coffee or chat with a friend.
