I have posted here before about the danger of ‘free items’ turning into the clutter we all strive to avoid, but it’s time for a reminder. I’ve noticed that many of the homes I have been working in lately have had a large percentage of items that qualified as freebies…water bottles, t shirts, aprons, dish towels, stickers, magnets, tank tops, bibs, bottle openers, letter openers, magnifiers, pens, hangers with logos, gift wrap, gift bags, baseball caps…you name it. While it might appear to be something you will use, most likely it is an item you already own, and usually an item you already own multiples of. So be wary of letting it cross the threshold into your space, because somehow, once it’s in, it stays, and it multiplies. Take ten minutes to scan your spaces for these items and if they aren’t loved, used, or needed, say goodbye…
