Everyone’s closet gets messy and unruly – even an organizer’s closet!   Everyday life gets busy and items get misplaced, tossed in the wrong spot, left unfolded or not hung up, and/or shoes & socks sometimes lose their partners.   What to do?    Take some time to maintain your systems!     Everything in your closet should have a home, meaning your jeans should be folded or hung, all in the same area.   Sweaters should be folded on a shelf, blouses and shirts hung on hangers, maybe by style – long sleeve, short sleeve, etc. or by color – whatever your preference and however you will most easily see and access the items.   A place for everything, and everything in its place.   I took some time recently to ‘maintain’ the clothes closets in my house, just tidying up a bit – re-folding, re-hanging, putting belts on a belt hanger, making sure shoes had a match.     We had already spent some time going thru all of the clothes to make sure things fit.   This time was just a general tune up, because, as I am sure you notice, the schedule gets full and the pace picks up and different areas of your home need attention.     Your clothes closet is a key location for the start of your day – if it is organized, it is much more likely your day will begin in an organized manner as well.   Give it a try.
